Amber Necklaces by The Amber Monkey (Small - 10-11")
The genuine Baltic amber beads that make up these amber teething necklaces from The Amber Monkey come from a fossilized tree resin found in the Baltic region of the world, including Lithuania and Poland. Amber is thought all over the world to aid in pain relief. It contains 3-8% of succinic acid, the precursor to acetylsalicylic acid, one of the active ingredients in aspirin. Body warmth releases the acid into the skin when worn, to act as a natural pain reliever. Wear the Baltic amber closest to the painful area for the best relief.

The small 10"-11" necklace most generally fits a child until 12 months.
It is always best to try on the jewelry to ensure a correct fit.
As the child grows, check the necklace to ensure it is still the correct size. The necklace should fit loose enough around the neck so you can insert two or three fingers, but you should not be able to get the necklace above the child's chin, preventing the necklace from being put in his/her mouth.
The amber beads MUST NOT BE PUT INTO THE MOUTH OR CHEWED.
Each bead on The Amber Monkey's necklaces are individually knotted so if the necklace does break, the beads stay intact. The pop clasps are designed pop open immediately to prevent choking if one tugs or pulls on it. As with all jewelry, Baltic amber should only be worn and used under direct supervision of an adult.
Baltic amber comes in a variety of colors and shapes. Colors range from golden tones and opaque cream colors, to olive green, deep cherry and several shades of browns. Colors do not matter when it comes to the effectiveness of amber, it's purely a personal preference. The rounded beads come in a large variety of sizes as well, from small beads to large beads.
You will want to keep the amber from lotions, polishes, waxes and other residues that might coat the surface of the stones, creating a barrier from the healing succinic acid. Amber can be worn in the bath but not in the pool or hot tubs where chemicals are harmful to the amber. If the necklace needs to be washed, use warm water only, no soap.
