Amber Necklaces by The Amber Monkey (Medium - 12-13")
Baltic amber beads come from a resin from the baltic region of the world, the most popular areas are Lithuania and Poland. Amber is known all over the world to aid in pain relief. We recommend wearing the baltic amber closest to the painful area for the best relief. Baltic amber contains 3-8% of succinic acid which is the precursor to acetylsalicylic acid, otherwise known as one of the active ingredients in asprin. Which explains why so many people boast of wearing baltic amber for relief from migraines, teething, tooth aches, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and sports injuries.

The medium 12"-13" - necklace is generally for 12 months to 6 years old.
It is always best to try on the jewelry to ensure a correct fit.
As the child grows, check the necklace to ensure it is still the correct size. The necklace should fit loose enough around the neck so you can insert two or three fingers but you should not be able to get the necklace above the child's chin so the necklace cannot be put in his/her mouth.
The amber beads MUST NOT BE PUT INTO THE MOUTH OR CHEWED.
Each bead on The Amber Monkey's necklaces is individually knotted so if the necklace does break, the beads stay intact. Customers have the option of either a screw clasp or a pull-apart clasp. Both are designed to strip and pull open at a minimum 15 lbs pull force for ten seconds to prevent choking if one tugs or pulls on it. As with all jewelry, Baltic amber should only be worn and used under direct supervision of an adult.
Baltic amber comes in a variety of colors and shapes. Colors range from golden tones and opaque cream colors, to olive green, deep cherry and several shades of browns. Colors do not matter when it comes to the effectiveness of amber, it's purely a person preference. Beads come in a large variety of sizes as well from small beads to large beads. Shapes available are slender chips, baroque (rounded beads), and flatter bean shaped beads.
You will want to keep the amber from lotions, polishes, waxes and other residues that might coat the surface of the stones creating a barrier from the healing succinic acid. Amber can be worn in the bath but not in the pool or hot tubs where chemicals are harmful to the amber. If the necklace needs to be washed, use warm water only. No soap.
